Tax Residency Certidão: How to Get It on the Portal das Finanças
The tax residency certidão certifies the address registered with the Tax Authority. You get it online, free and instantly, through the Portal das Finanças — no need to request it and wait.
This is the proof of address with the most official weight — more than an electricity bill or a bank statement — because it's issued directly by the Tax Authority. It's requested by banks, landlords, and public bodies to confirm tax residency.
